2008 Minors - Little League Rules
Playing Rules:
Stolen Bases
" 3 per inning.
" Ball is considered dead on a catcher's over or under throw to 2nd
or 3rd base, during a steal attempt. Runner cannot advance to the next
base. (This encourages the throw)
" Stealing of home is allowed. (Preparation for All-Stars)
" A runner that advances on a wild pitch or past ball is considered
a steal.
" A catcher's throw to any base is considered a fielder's choice,
when a steal was not attempted (i.e. runner going back to the base). Play
is live and the runner can attempt to advance to any base (not considered
a steal).
" Runner can leave the base only after ball crosses the plate. No
leading.
Run Maximum
" A 5 run maximum, per any inning.
Pitching - Hit Batters
" Pitcher is removed on 2 hit batters in same inning.
" Pitcher is removed on 3 hit batters per game.
Continuous Batting Order
" A batting order will consist of however many batters are on the
lineup card for that game. (i.e. 12 players will be in the batting order;
nine will have a field position to start the game). A late player can
only be added to the end of the order.
League Rules:
" No inning will start after 8:15pm, unless being
played under lights.
" There will be a 15 minute wait after the scheduled game time to
field a legal team.
" ALL other rules will be governed by the 2008 Official
Little League Book.
Coaches please remember this is still an instructional level, which introduces
competition. Please refrain from negative displays of sportsmanship. Any
issues should be brought to your leagues President. It will then be addressed
in this manner between Presidents.
